Yesterday was a busy day for wedding magic. I spent the afternoon entertaining David and Sarah's guests at Stirrups Country House Hotel. They had really gone to town - the wedding "car" was a horse drawn carriage, there was a string quartet and a brass band to provide musical accompaniment and plenty of magic to amaze the guests. The weather had been up and down all day but brightened up for the afternoon which made the wedding reception a real delight. Then I headed over to Taplow House Hotel to do some more magical entertainment at the evening wedding party for Alex and Mitch. Alex had seen me at a wedding fair and she thought some magic (and balloons for the youngsters) would be a lovely addition to the day. Everyone was in a great mood and the evening flew by with plenty of mind-reading thrown into the mix. I also taught one young Dynamo fan how to do his first magic trick, which he then spent the rest of the night showing to his parents (repeatedly)!
A very busy day, but lots of fun. Many congratulations to David and Sarah and Alex and Mitch.

April has been a very busy month and I've been performing at lots of parties and weddings - you can see some pictures below. I was booked to be the party magician for local ice hockey team the Bracknell Bees. This was great fun, although the magic was competing with a wild bucking bronco ride. Most people only lasted a few seconds on the mechanical horse before being dumped on the (padded) floor! Watching the magic was a much safer option. I've also had the pleasure of entertaining people at a number of wedding receptions around Wokingham and Bracknell and done two days of mind reading in Staines to support their flood appeal. The mayor popped in and I had to work out what word he was thinking of (it was "photographer"). This was recorded on video for the local newspaper/website and I'll hopefully be able to post up a link to it soon. I also fitted in a week away in (surprisingly sunny) Yorkshire and it's still only the 21st of the month! But looking at the calendar May is going to be even busier - 16 magical performances already booked in and more on the way. It's good to be busy!
On Bank Holiday Friday I was back at Heathrow for my regular magic slot, performing for passengers flying out from Terminal 5. This is always a lot of fun and you never know who you are going to meet. I'd just missed Lennox Lewis and Paolo Nutini but did bump into someone famous - just not in the UK! It was Carlos Escobedo, the bass player for Spain's top rock band "SOBER". I don't know any Spanish and he doesn't know any English but, as I also play guitar, we communicated using the names of bands, guitars and amplifiers! I then spent some time amazing a hen party group who were off for a wild weekend in Madrid - that was a lot of fun. Later I did magic for Stephanie from BBC Sport and "Jackhammer" Rod from the US Navy - they made a lovely couple, even if they had only just met at the airport a few minutes before!
I'll be back at Heathrow again soon so if you're flying from T5 look out for me doing free magic. Are you planning a wedding and looking for some unusual wedding entertainment ideas? Something that will make your guests sit up and take notice. Something that will make your wedding different to (and better than) all the rest. Well, why not book a magician to keep everyone amazed! Or if you want some really unusual wedding entertainment for about TWO magicians who perform a telepathic act unlike anything else in the UK? They can read your mind with ease. They know what you're thinking, your star sign, your birthday, how much money is in your wallet, the serial number on a banknote you're holding, the word or number you are thinking of and everything about you. It is truly astonishing and will astound your guests. If you're interested and want to know more then get in touch for details!
Wokingham is my home town and a great place to live. It's often voted one of the nicest towns in the country and has an ideal mix of shops, amenities and countryside. It's also close to motorway and train routes which is very useful when I'm heading off to do magic across the UK. However sometimes it's nice to perform locally and last weekend I was doing wedding magic for the guests at Vicky and Jon's wedding at Cantley House Hotel, which is only about two miles from my front door.
The weather was wonderful, which was a great relief as this time last year most weddings were decidedly cold and damp! I was booked to entertain the wedding guests while the photographer was at work. As often happens at weddings the couple and close family are in lots of shots, but most of the other guests are only in a few group shots and have little to do until the meal starts. That's where some magic comes in handy! I spent the afternoon wandering around doing amazing things in a "mix and mingle" style. Most of the guests didn't even know that there would be a magician at the wedding, so were all the more amazed when incredible things started to happen right in front of them! I'm currently taking bookings for weddings in 2014 and 2015 so if you're planning a wedding and would like to treat your guests to something special get in touch! The magic starts from just £250. It will be one of the smallest parts of your wedding budget, but definitely one of the most memorable and amazing! |
