Over the last few months I have been working regularly at Crown Rivers restaurant and bar at Heathrow airport Terminal 5 (airside). This is one of the flagship locations within the J.D.Wetherspoons chain and it is always a pleasure to entertain passengers waiting for their flight while enjoying their Crown Rivers food and drink. It is still quite unusual to have a magician in a restaurant/bar, especially at an airport, and this fact has been picked up by the J.D.Wetherspoons magazine. Their latest issue includes an article about my magic alongside a couple of nice photos.
If you run a restaurant or bar, especially one in the J.D.Wetherspoons chain, and would like to amaze your customers with some magic please get in touch! It's a great way to get publicity, stand out from the competition and boost sales.

Yesterday I was back at Heathrow airport doing magic for the passengers. There were a number of delays so the Crown Rivers restaurant/bar was very busy with people who needed some food, drink and entertainment while they waited. A bit of magic certainly did the trick and turned a boring wait into an amazing one! An American family on their way to Toulouse were playing cards to pass the time, so I did some of the magic using their own cards to show there was no cheating going on. I also met a group of lads heading off for a stag weekend abroad. The attraction of a magician enticed them into Crown Rivers and once they had all bought a drink I spent a very enjoyable few minutes entertaining them with some card tricks and mind-reading. My purple top hat also grabbed attention and was tried on by various customers, someone even wanted to buy it, which I couldn't allow, although I did direct them to a shop in Camden that might be able to help. With the Summer holidays coming up I will be back at Crown Rivers in Terminal 5 (airside) regularly so, if you are flying out through that terminal, please pop in and say hello.
On Saturday I entertained at a 50th birthday party in Iver Heath during the afternoon (congratulations Richard!) and then drove over to the Crowne Plaza hotel in Marlow for a charity event in aid of the Alzheimer's Society. The place was absolutely packed with guests who were all dressed to the nines and ready to enjoy an evening of food, drink, music and entertainment - all for a very good cause. The toastmaster kept everyone in order (just about!) and a disco and soul band provided the music, while I provided the magic. It's always a pleasure to perform at events like this, everyone is relaxed and in the mood to enjoy themselves and the magic went down really well - I can't remember the last time I've been asked for my business card so often! Many thanks to Sarah, Jo and the others for organising such a great event and special thanks to everyone who came along and gave so generously.
Well as expected it has been a very busy few days bringing magical entertainment to jubilee street parties. I've lost count of how many tricks have been done, sausage rolls eaten, balloon animals made and rain showers dodged! It was all huge fun and I met many lovely people, although I'll be quite glad to have a couple of days off now to recover from it all. Here are some pics...
There is plenty going on this weekend as I'll be bringing magical entertainment to a number of Jubilee events around Berkshire and London. The long weekend got off to a great start as I was attending a special event at the Royal Albert Hall. A highlight of this event was meeting international singing star Lesley Garrett. She loves magic and was kind enough to do something special for a video I'm currently working on for The Magic Circle. You can see what she did here...thanks Lesley!
