On Friday night I was doing a gig at the Crown and Treaty pub in Uxbridge. As I arrived there was a guy being hypnotised right by the main door! I wandered over to see who was doing the hypnotisting and found it was none other than my good mate Ravi Mayar, who was also performing in the area that night. An excellent coincidence! The other highlight for me was a great "card on ceiling" inside the pub. That ceiling is pretty high so I think that card may be up there for quite a while!

Yesterday I was doing some magic and mind-reading at Painshill Park, near Cobham. The weather was gorgeous and Painshill is well worth a visit - especially the magical grotto.
What does a magician do on his night off? He meets up with some other magicians and goes out doing magic! So a couple of nights back I spent the evening touring bars and having a few drinks with Rob Bone (an excellent magician and member of the Magic Circle) and Phill Ryan (a hypnotist and expert balloon swallower (!!!) ). We tried out a few new routines and swapped ideas, while also entertaining anyone who happened to be passing. As the evening went on we stayed sober (don't conjure while drunk!) and everyone we met seemed to get more and more drunk - which made it increasingly hard to keep their attention, but was a lot of fun. A great night out!
If you're up in London and fancy some superb food then I'd highly recommend Sofra in Tavistock Street (just off Covent Garden). It is an excellent Turkish restaurant - the food is world class and the staff couldn't be more friendly. Chief chef Huseyin Ozer is a true talent and I was delighted to do some magic for him recently. Highly recommended!
