Last Friday I was booked to do magic for accountancy firm Shaw Gibbs. They had booked a rather unusual venue for their party - the Malmaison in Oxford. This is a luxurious hotel but has a dubious past as it used to be a prison! The layout looks just like a posh version of the prison in TV show "Porridge" and the bedrooms are converted cells behind solid imposing doors. It was an extraordinary place and the perfect setting for a wild party. It was great fun to do magic for everyone, including one rather colourfully dressed gent in a blue and white star and snowflake covered outfit (see picture below).
The next day I received a lovely email about the magic that said - "Thank you Mike, you were the star of the evening, everyone has been talking about you today" It was a great party - many thanks to Sarah and Vicky for arranging everything.
