Another busy weekend doing magic at three weddings across Berkshire. First Chloe and Ian in Yateley, then Sheng and Jing in Maidenhead and then Roger and Sharon in my hometown of Wokingham. Lots of fun and you can see pictures from the weddings below...
At this time of year with so many performances going on I'm getting through playing cards, balloons, elastic bands, cutlery and more at a huge rate of knots. Luckily I've got a cupboard full of props including a huge number of cards - most houses have one old pack of somewhat battered playing cards tucked away in a drawer somewhere, but I've got literally hundreds of them piled several feet high ready for use! With the hot weather we have had recently I get through one or two packs each day - during the magic the poor old cards get written on, torn up, folded, lost, handed out, covered in beer, dropped on the floor, stuck to the ceiling, hidden in various places and just battered by continual use. Each wedding needs it's own fresh pack of pristine new cards. In fact if I ask someone to shuffle them this can cause a problem as brand new cards are so smooth and slippery that people can end up dropped them all over the place! The inevitable "52 card pick-up"!
