I spent a very enjoyable afternoon on Saturday performing magic at Jack and Jane's wedding. Guests were aged between 5 and 75 so there was plenty of variety. Card tricks for some, balloons for the youngsters and lots of laughs.
Many congratulations to the happy couple.

No, I haven't gone completely mad. December is the big season for parties and to help people decide the best place to hold their party (hint hint - Old Orleans, Reading) we held a "Christmas Showcase" last night. Tinsel, presents, party hats, a proper Christmas tree, carols being sung and lots of Christmas magic! All a bit mad on 14th October but everyone got into the spirit of the event and there was a great party atmosphere. We're holding another Christmas showcase event on 25th November - why not come along and join the fun!
Magic at Old Orleans in Reading, just by the Oracle shopping centre, every Tuesday between 8pm and 10pm - come along to enjoy the food, drink, music and entertainment!
I spend yesterday exhibiting/demonstrating magic at the Prestige Wedding Fair in the Hilton Hotel, Bracknell. Zoe always does a great job at organising these fairs and this was no exception. Loads of "brides to be" and plenty of interesting stands to visit. During the odd quiet moment I enjoyed talking to Kate Lloyd, a professional photographer at the stand next to mine. If you need a photographer then she comes highly recommended - you can see examples of her work by clicking here.
Many thanks to everyone who stopped to see some magic and special thanks to those who have made a booking for 2011. My diary is filling up, but there are still dates available, so if you would like some special magic at your wedding please get in touch. A great night and loads of money raised for charity. Many thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a success, and thanks to ORACLE for the use of their building and to all the suppliers who gave their time for free.
Byte Night is the IT industry’s annual sleep out in support of Action for Children. Each year hundreds of individuals and teams from across the IT and business community spend a night exposed to the elements in a bid to raise sponsorship and awareness of Action for Children’s work.
It all began 12 years ago when 30 individuals from the IT industry slept out and raised £35,000. Since then the event has grown to over 700 sleepers raising almost £550,000 in 2009 alone. Patrons, sponsors and sleepers include celebrities and leading figures, CIOs, systems developers, business managers, marketers and more. This Friday (8th October) events are taking place across the UK, including at the Oracle HQ building in Thames Valley Park, Reading (NB: not at Reading's "Oracle" shopping centre!). I will be going along to provide support and entertainment for this very good cause. Finger's crossed that the weather will be kind! Now this was something special! A great day up in London - performing magic with just a pack of cards in the grand setting of the British Museum. Many thanks to everyone who was involved.
