The last few weeks have been very busy with a few special highlights. Alongside a number of lovely parties and weddings I have also performed for staff at GlaxoSmithKline and spent three very enjoyable days entertaining clients for luxury interior designers Andrew Martin in Kensington. Many thanks to everyone involved in these great events.
I have also been back doing magic at Heathrow and will be returning there for some special spooky magic on 31st October - Halloween! Alongside the magic I am also working on a new two-person telepathy act that is unique in the UK. More details will be available soon but for the moment let's just say that the trial runs have been amazing people and show great promise for the future. We've even had the chance to demonstrate the act on the stage at The Magic Circle, which received a great response from the audience of somewhat hard-to-please fellow magicians! If you are organising a corporate event and would like to feature something that's a bit different to the normal magic then this will be a perfect way to entertain and amaze everyone.

Here's one of my favourite pieces of magic, done at a bustling Heathrow airport. Nothing has been set up or pre-arranged - it's just an impossible mixture of magic, prediction and mind-reading. Hope you like it! The two busiest times of year for me are the Summer months (lots of weddings) and December (all those Christmas parties). In fact the last few weeks have been so busy that I'm starting to lose track of all the events I've performed at - sometimes two or three within one day. I suppose it is only to be expected when you are one of the busiest magicians in the UK. I performed at 153 events last year and 2013 looks as if it will break that record!
There are many great things about being a full-time professional magician, but one of the best is when you receive kind words and thanks from people after their wedding or party. It's lovely to receive a thank you note or email and recently being described as "the perfect entertainment for our wedding" really made my day. Other recent comments have been "thank you so much for your excellent work in providing the close-up magic at our celebration luncheon. Everyone thought you were marvellous and we would not hesitate to use or recommend you in the future" (Virginia D.) and "we would both like to say a very big thank you performing your magic at our wedding. Everyone that saw you commented on how good you were and how much they enjoyed it. We would have no hesitation in recommending you to family or friends or anyone that would like a magician. Many thanks for being a part of our special day" (Roger C.) Here are a few pictures from some of the weddings and parties I have performed at recently... Usually when someone gets in touch to ask about booking me for a party or event one of the first questions is "How many people will be there?" If it's a small dinner party the answer may be between 10 and 20. If it's a wedding then maybe 30 to 300. However on Saturday afternoon everything was a bit different as there were approximately 25,000 people in attendance! I had been booked to entertain at the Danone Nations Cup being held in Wembley Stadium. I arrived early and the place was nearly empty, but that didn't last for long as people poured in from 1pm onwards. Luckily I didn't have to do the magic on the terraces, but instead spent five hours performing in the Bobby Moore suite for all of the special guests. A fantastic (if rather exhausting) afternoon. Danone had hired 18 face-painters and balloon-modellers for the youngsters in attendance and just one magician - yours truly - so I was certainly kept busy! Everyone was in a great mood and the whole event was a huge success, many thanks to Josephine at Danone for asking me to be a part of it all.
Last Wednesday I made my annual journey to the world's poshest and most exclusive car show - Salon Prive. The show features some of the most expensive and exotic cars ever produced from manufacturers such as McLaren, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ginetta, Spyker, Koenigsegg, Ferrari and many more. Even the car park outside was crammed with Aston Martins, Ferraris, Bentleys and all manner of awesome machinery. I was at Salon Prive to spend a few hours with some of my corporate clients, but the show is open to anyone, as long as they don't mind paying the £250 (!!!) entrance fee.
Alongside the cars there was free champagne, free lobster and the chance to really live the high life for a while. Celebrity guests included racing legend Derek Bell, Gary Lineker and TV's "queen of motoring" Vicki Butler-Henderson (see below). The weather was glorious and, unlike at most car shows where everything is behind a barrier, you could get up close and personal with almost all of the cars. It's not often that they let you sit in a £170,000 McLaren! (Be careful not to scratch the paintwork) I'd like to say a huge thanks to all of the great people that I spoke with during the day, especially Tim at Executional Events, Peter at Oracle Finance and Stephan from the Monaco Tourist Authority. If you need more magic in the future then just let me know! Well, this was a bit different. Most of my magic is done at parties, weddings and corporate functions - but a couple of weeks ago I was asked to help out with a special event and spent the afternoon doing "street magic" in the town of Dovercourt. It was a five hour round trip in the car, but sounded like a lot of fun so I drove over and spent a few hours amazing people. The idea was to promote the forthcoming Dovercourt "Sea and Songs" festival, but rather than just go into shops and ask them to put up a poster in the window the organisers thought that having a magician along would be a nice touch. So I wandered along the high street going into bars, cafes, shops, estate agents, newsagents and more just generally doing amazing things - it was great fun! Many thanks to Brian for asking me along and to everyone who we met during the day for being so friendly and welcoming and supporting the festival - you can see some of them below!
