On Friday I had a fantastic day at Phil and Kim's wedding at the Grovefield House Hotel in Burnham, performing some magic and a bit of hypno (thanks Naomi!). Best wishes to the happy couple!

The Old Orleans restaurant in Reading has been closed for a few days for a major refurbishment and I was asked to perform some magic at their grand re-opening on 27th July. What a great night - the place was packed with people enjoying the food and entertainment. If you haven't been to Old Orleans before then you really should check it out, it's the most fun place to go in Reading.
On Friday I was performing magic at the Hope & Anchor in Wokingham. This is an excellent friendly pub that regularly puts on live entertainment. They specialise in live music and feature some of the top bands on the circuit, with an emphasis on rock. But for this evening it was magic that took centre stage.
I always enjoy performing here - there is a great atmosphere and the pub attracts people who know how to have fun, especially on a Friday night. I did the normal mix of card tricks, mind-reading and palm-reading. At the start I was given a pack of the pub's cards to use, rather than my own "in case they're trick cards or something" apparently. No problem! Later in the evening I met Caroline who was interested in the hypnosis and hypnotherapy that I do. So we took the opportunity to remove a phobia she has, or should I say had! It's always good to help people as well as entertain them. A great night and I will be back at the H&A in the near future, On Wednesday I caught the train up to London for the monthly meet of magicians, mind-readers and hypnotists. This is always a lot of fun and involves some food, some drink, swapping of ideas and lots of magic/hypno being performed. At this particular meeting there were a number of excellent hypnotic subjects and when you put them together with a group of expert hypnotists you just know that fun will ensue! Some of it was also captured on video and this had been posted to the "monthly meet" Facebook group - although it's more fun to see it happening right there in front of you.
Anyone is welcome to come along to these meetings - the next one is being organised right now and will probably be on August Bank Holiday Monday. More details soon! I spent this morning at Tate Modern being amazed (and occasionally horrified) by art. Lots of it was brilliant - some of it was, errr, not. Well worth a visit though.
Then I headed over to a posh restaurant for a very special birthday party. Lots of magic, mind-reading (with the amazing colour box) and some hypno for the birthday girl. Everyone had a great time and hopefully the management of the restaurant will be booking me again soon - more details when this gets confirmed. This week I auditioned for a well-known TV show up in London. It was lots of fun, although some people who had travelled hundreds of miles and waited for hours were sent away after just one 30-second interview! I can't reveal which show it is but I'm waiting to see whether the audition results in me being "hired" or "fired" (hint hint).
In the meantime I've been out doing magic at various pubs and bars. Old Orleans in Reading is undergoing a refurb at the moment so my next appearance there will be on the 27th July as part of their grand reopening - should be a great night! I've been away for a bit and had a very relaxing holiday in sunny Wales - it was great! Staying in a large farmhouse in the middle of nowhere surrounded by countryside and sheep. And lots of exciting things have been happening in the meantime - more news soon, watch this space!
