First was a day in Richmond doing magic as part of the opening of a new Estate Agent branch. Alongside the magic there was a balloon man, face painters, a guitarist, some arts and craft and lots of free food and drink. Unfortunately there was also a massive rainstorm! The plan had been for us to entertain the people of Richmond on the street, but the rain ruled that out and we all sheltered inside the branch. Luckily a lot of people still came in to see what was going on and we all spent several hours entertaining them (and maybe even persuading one of two to buy a new house!) The day was a great success and I've already been asked back to perform at their next branch opening in Camden next month.
Next I was back at Loseley Park in Guildford for their wedding fair. Thank you to everyone who came along and saw the demo of my magic (and then booked me for their wedding!)
I also performed at a wedding party in Cookham. This was held in the Sanctum on the Green, which is a remarkable gastro pub. It's owned by Andy Taylor who manages the band Iron Maiden, which was interesting as I've done magic for their drummer Nicko in the past.
Next was a birthday party in Caterham followed by three more weddings and three performances booked in at local pubs and bars. At the last wedding I arrived early and the DJs were testing their equipment by playing incredibly loud music and pumping out massive amounts of dry ice. There was probably too much of the dry ice as within a few seconds the smoke alarm went off! This resulted in the staff dashing about trying to switch it off and everyone was very relieved that the sprinkler system hadn't gone off too and soaked the wedding venue just as the guests started arriving!
I now have a couple of days off before heading to London on Wednesday for a large corporate event.
If you're planning a party or wedding and would like me to come along and amaze your guests then get in touch and hopefully I'll be able to fit you in. Don't leave it until too late, I'm already booking some 2016 dates!
